Welcome to the virtual resource center for Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems—Educational Resources (INFEWS-ER).
The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) are supporting collaboration among research communities to accelerate discovery and Innovation at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems (INFEWS). An important part of this effort is the development of Educational Resources (ER) by and for the INFEWS research communities: the INFEWS-ER.
With an initial award of a 4-year, $1 million multi-institutional grant, the INFEWS-ER was established to develop and deliver the educational resources via a virtual resource center as well as annual symposia. The INFEWS-ER will serve as a networking hub for students, faculty, and other investigators interested in enhancing their capabilities to engage in transdisciplinary investigation of complex FEW problems. The INFEWS-ER will offer three programs to develop this expansive research community:
- The FEW Faculty Fellowship Program recruits FEW Faculty Fellows to help develop a system of online and live learning modules in which graduate students will engage in both curricular and co-curricular activities completing their transdisciplinary training.
- The FEW Graduate Scholars Program offers students a program for participating in the INFEWS-ER’s online curriculum online annual symposia.
- The FEW-ture Faculty Team Program offers students selected from the FEW Graduate Scholars Program an opportunity to collaborate on developing and disseminating learning modules based upon case studies of FEW systems.
Potential FEW Faculty Fellows are invited and encouraged to respond to our Summer 2017 Request for Proposals.
